Room‐Temperature Spin‐Dependent Transport in Metalloporphyrin‐Based Supramolecular Wires

نویسندگان

چکیده

Here we present room-temperature spin-dependent charge transport measurements in single-molecule junctions made of metalloporphyrin-based supramolecular assemblies. They display large conductance switching for magnetoresistance a junction. The depends acutely on the probed electron pathway through wire: those involving metal center showed marked effects as opposed to exclusively porphyrin ring which nearly complete absence transport. molecular junction is highly anisotropic, being observable when magnetization ferromagnetic electrode oriented along main axis, and almost suppressed it perpendicular. key ingredients above effect manifest are electronic structure paramagnetic metalloporphyrin, spinterface created at molecule–electrode contact.

Quantum transport through molecular wires

We explore electron transport properties in molecular wires made of heterocyclic molecules (pyrrole, furan and thiophene) by using the Green’s function technique. Parametric calculations are given based on the tight-binding model to describe the electron transport in these wires. It is observed that the transport properties are significantly influenced by (a) the heteroatoms in the heterocyclic...

Charge transport along proton wires.

Using density functional theory we look at the quantum mechanics of charge transport along water wires both with free ends and donor/acceptor terminated. With the intermediate geometries in the DFT iterations we can follow the charge transfer mechanism and also construct the energy landscape explicitly. It shows activation barriers when a proton is transferred from one water molecule to the nex...

Electronic transport in inhomogeneous quantum wires

We study the transport properties of a long non-uniform quantum wire where the electron-electron interactions and the density vary smoothly at large length scales. We show that these inhomogeneities lead to a finite resistivity of the wire, due to a weak violation of momentum conservation in the collisions between electrons. Estimating the rate of change of momentum associated with non-momentum...

Transport in Single Channel Quantum Wires

This tutorial article gives an introduction to the methods needed to treat interacting electrons in a quantum wire with a single occupied band. Since one–dimensional Fermions cannot be described in terms of noninteracting quasiparticles, the Tomonaga–Luttinger model is presented in some detail with an emphasis on transport properties. To achieve a self–contained presentation, the Bosonization t...
